Somewhere beneath spawn, a portal hums behind obsidian and bedrock. Since day one of Season 2 it has been sealed, watched and left alone. That ends in November.
When it opens, the Nether belongs to whoever is brave enough to take it. Ancient debris, blaze rods, fortress loot, everything the Overworld cannot give you sits waiting on the other side. So does every rival who wants the same things.
Step through and you leave your base, your chests and your safety behind. You will come back richer than you arrived, or you will not come back at all. Gear up, say your goodbyes and decide what your name will be worth by December.
The portal opens at 18:00 UTC on November 7. There will be no second chance at a first descent, and the first players through the gate will write the map everyone else has to survive in.
